Dazzla Veteran Posted August 29, 2005 Veteran Share Posted August 29, 2005 Really hard? That is a good start button! I've been using the black style for a few days now, hunting for bugs and it's a surprisingly clean and usable theme. One of the very few black themes that work. This theme will blow people's minds for quite some time until Vista is released. I don't think we need more themes after this (I mean that we don't need other people's, but of course we could use more of em3's work in the future :)) Thanks Dazzla, welcome back. :D Haven't seen you for a while. 586449684 Yeah, I agree, haven't seen him in a while. Good to have you in em3's topics Dazzla, very good :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/349876-wip-luna-element-4/page/22/#findComment-586449690 Share on other sites
Dazzla Veteran Posted August 29, 2005 Veteran Share Posted August 29, 2005 Now this is intentional I imagine, but any chance of some sort of subtle mouseover for the tray arrow? DoS
This theme should win the title of "Best theme of 2005" of course unless LE5 comes out. :p 586449734 What do you mean? There is some kind of design awards here at Neowin? em3
^ Yea. It can't be fixed without destroying the Vista look. So I desided to keep the Vista look and ignore the bugs. P!P
I have a question, if on September 12, Microsoft releases an entirely new Vista look. Will you release a new verison of LE/VE? :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/349876-wip-luna-element-4/page/22/#findComment-586449847 Share on other sites
Dazzla Veteran Posted August 29, 2005 Veteran Share Posted August 29, 2005 Another thing, any chance of mousedowns on the vertical and horizontal trackbars? I know I'm being a bit picky, but this has the potential to be one of the best themes ever released for XP. Stylish, usable, bug free. em3
^ I don't know. I want to get this released as soon as possible. Imo it's a big deal that it looks the same as the hover image. But I'll do my best to come up with something. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/349876-wip-luna-element-4/page/22/#findComment-586449943 Share on other sites

em3
If you want me to make the progressbar bug free the only thing that would be acceptable to me is blockstyle. hulkachopblocker
^ I did'nt even know it was a bug. I thought wow thats pretty kool how you can see it a little. Can you make the progress bar spell " I LOVE ALIZEE " when a download is completed?? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/349876-wip-luna-element-4/page/22/#findComment-586450150 Share on other sites
Denis W. Veteran Posted August 29, 2005 Veteran Share Posted August 29, 2005 If you want me to make the progressbar bug free the only thing that would be acceptable to me is blockstyle. 586450116 My opinion: the smooth progressbars are better, even though there's the bug of having a small part of it show. One thing I wondered for a long time: in the default XP Luna VS, it is possible to have BOTH types of progress bars - smooth and sectioned. It's up to the programmers to decide which style to use. I haven't seen a VS so far that uses both styles. Well if LE4 could implement this, then great. Oh and thanks for correcting that toolbar separator bug. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/349876-wip-luna-element-4/page/22/#findComment-586450163 Share on other sites
ArChAn9eL
what were the bugs, ever since i used the solid progress bars for le3 and le4 i never ran into a bug with the progress bar... em3
^ Well. You can have both. But then you have to hack the theme after it's compiled. I don't like that. This is one of those things I whish they would update in Stylebuilder, but they havn't updated for years. :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/349876-wip-luna-element-4/page/22/#findComment-586450205 Share on other sites
jimbo11883
A quick way would be to use Fills instead of an image for the PB. My whistler theme uses blocks in some apps, and other apps that draw their own version (FireFox) make them solid. Daninku
Nevermind ... Nice VS, but please try to remove as much bugs as you can, since it wouldn't be a complete VS!! JustGeorge
After this is finished, you should consider doing a WindowBlind skin complete with all the LE styles up to this point. Your prolly capable of alot more than what the limited msstyles engine can let you show. Any chance of the color change in the start menu I suggested a few pages back? DoS
If you want me to make the progressbar bug free the only thing that would be acceptable to me is blockstyle. 586450116 Well, I came up with an alternative. Let's see what you and other people think. I like it. I modified some values, and now the progress bar goes solid in programs where it's needed (like BitTorrent ^_^), and it goes blockstyle in some random ones (IE stays blockstyle, but in Firefox it's solid, so I don't know what's the rule). What matters is that it gets beautiful every way, and then the bug is gone. What do you people think?
