Vista menu bar

Recommended Posts

I was looking at the screenshot news post, and something stuck me funny. I'm sitting there looking at the "All Documents" folder, and then it hits me. Where the hell did the menu bar go?! It's been one of the many well-known features that Windows customers have gotten used to ever since Windows 95.

I'm not a prodigy when it comes to Windows, but I know it well enough to be able to help people. However, looking at the pictures (and inevitibly my copy someday) I have no idea how do to anything that I would have gotten done with that menu. If I can't figure it out, what will become of the less computer inclined/old people that use it for the internet and Solitaire? They'll be lost beyond belief.

Vista:0, OS X:1? Not trying to start a flame war, but I think Vista really screwed up, as far as that point

I'm not sure if you understood "which" menu bar I was talking about. I'm asking about the one at the top of every window that has "File, Edit, View, etc." This one has nothing to do with launching progams

its under show/hide 'classic' toolbars- see screenshot

but yer they're trying to simplify the user interface- reduction in buttons and menus etc.

Took me a few moments to find it, but there are some nice new options under "Folder Options" if you play around. ;)

I noticed that if you hit Alt the "classic" menu bar will appear so that the menu's keyboard accelerators still work.

That should make my boss happy. He insists on using Alt+E+C to copy instead of Ctrl+C for some reason.
