Sandor
anyhow...as its a "thoughts" thread... first...i know its a beta and lots of stuff will change before release... i am encouraged and worried by IE7 at the same time. the interface is "decent". having the file/edit/blah menus under the tabs just doesnt work for me and ive seen a few people voicing similar concerns. the refresh button is also in an annoying position. some have said it looks like the work of a junior programmer with no design background and i can see their point i guess. its not really as appealing as opera in my opinion. hopefully it'll get tweaked a bit more before release or at least offer more control/customisation. the speed is lightning at times but ive come across a few hangs at certain times but hopefully thats just an issue to do with my PC or net connection, or the site concerned. its hard to say really. most of the time, it is very quick, as is the transition between tabs. it is faster than that of FF or opera. the RSS is "ok" and not perfect but its not a feature i use as much as a lot of people. the phishing tool is useful and im sure it'll be of a lot of use to many people who dont spot the often simple warning signs in URLs or such like. its clear theres a decent amount of new and improved features already, even for a 1st beta. im sure it'll be a lot more refined and reliable come release. overall its a thumbs up from me. it could have been a complete turkey of a beta but i see it as quite promising. Sandor
Dont make the mistake of thinking I am on your same league. I am not a fanboy whatsoever. You are. I use many web rendering engines thanks to my career and personally I use both Gecko and IE NCSA Mosaic? in my home computer.I just attend to the facts, thats it. 586288649[/snapback] haha...if you think im a fanboy you need to learn how to read. please go and review my other posts...and actually read the words this time. and dont make assumptions about who i am, what i do, what i know, or anything to do with me. no ones gives a crap who i am or who you are so get over it. the only league you seem to excel in is being an A-Grade Arse. NeoXY
predator001...an opinion is an opinion, if you can't except it, fine. But making personal attacks are no way of helping your point or doing any good to this board. The opinions can be heated, but no one needs or wants this crap.... Now...I understand what every one is saying how MS STILL did not fix the CSS issues and the browser still is not up to standered in some factors, but there is one thing I don't understand.. WHY IS EVERYONE B!TCHING about the GUI?!?!? I find it extremly easy to navigate and is easy on the eyes. All the essential buttons (Back, Forward, Refresh and Stop) is at the top and easy to get to places, and the rest is out of your way. It's clean and simple, can someone explain to me LOGICALLY why this GUI don't make sense? --edit-- and they seriously need a "refresh all tabs" as an option... Makeshift Hammer
Most of the pages i've seen that "comply with the w3c standards" seem to be designed (content wise) purely to show how I.E doesn't comply with those standards. Anyone with half a brain and wants an audience will comply with "I.E standards" (otherwise what is the point of even putting up a site? so you can show five geeks and your granny?) jadkins555
As for RSS, it doesn't have live bookmarks, which is a downer. That is the only reason I would use RSS, for the live bookmarks. If you have to stare at a page for the content, why not just go to the original site?
