theavidgeek
In my opinion it looks horrible. I only like the tabbed browsing and rss features added, the rest is just a shabby makeover imo :/
f0rbez
The interface is retarded. Should be an alpha. Most of it doesn't work properly for me.
greg098
well i like the new design...not as good as firefox or opera tho, but still good. I perfer firefox's small simple icons and menus and operas colour themes.
Kr0z
I no longer use firefox. That should answer your question.

Lexcyn
To me it just seems like regular old IE with some extra features. I'm still sticking with Firefox. :)

amrinders87
Its way better than IE6. However, I would like to see a better download manager and a password manager.

KoL Veteran Posted July 29, 2005 Veteran Share Posted July 29, 2005 I install it and then uninstall it. That should answer your question. I'll keep IE6 and I dont think I'll be back to IE, Im very happy with Firefox.

malirene
Realy nice, on Win XP SP2 runs with no problems, fast and stable. So far so good, I like it and stick with. Only real problem is windows update. I hope will be fixed shortly. Tabs are great, fast and have all shortcuts same like Safary on Mac witch one I like a lot. How mach I see now this will be No 1 browser again and again... ;)
dduardo
People, when evaluating ie7 don't just concentrate on the look, make sure it complies with W3C standards. This is very important to the future the internet. Don't let microsoft screw over you with non standard compliance.

I could have gone into detail, but I don't think its worth the time. Anyway, he asked what people thought. Maybe you could respond to that rather than criticize comments. LUTZIFER
Pretty much the only thing I don't like about IE 7, is that the bookmarks don't show in one column and scroll when there's lots, like in IE 6. That's the biggest prob, but that top toolbar not being movable kinda bites though. I don't even use the tabs, never liked tabs. IE 6 can have tabs. But this IE 7 is sure alot faster, and that's what's keepin me usin it so far, lol.

I also had no problems with favourites (other than the rigmarole you have to go through to open them in a new tab........open new tab/select favourite/favourite opens in new tab as opposed to having an option such as "open favourites in new tab.....that annoyed me a little.) RSS worked fine also..admittedly all i did was click on the links added during the install since i view rss as a pretty pointless method of accruing information (but it is a great way to gather torrent info/links in clients such as ziptorrent.....but you don't use a browser, any browser, for that.) Stability? i had no issues whatsoever......w3c? suck a plum, i personally couldn't care less about "standards", i'm a consumer, not a ****ing masturbatory ###### with nothing better going on in my life that "standards". Hhhhhmm.....what else? I had issues with my yahoo inbox, it reset to this supergay minimalist view. I think that has something to do with java implementation? not too sure though. there were a few options missing that i'm used to having in Avant (such as save open pages on exit, load multiple pages, groups etc etc) but hopefully we'll see them implemented later. anything else..............yeah, it uninstalls rather painlessly which was nice (i'm a real anal retentive about certain things, and although it shouldn't bother me, i liked my yahoo inbox with the pretty colours and flash ads et al, that's why i uninstalled.) Is it better than anything else? no. Will it get better? i sure think so.
EastExpert
I wouldn't expect the slickest interface from a first (not meant to be public even, developer-oriented) beta, but definitely some good solutions (like the History line as drop-down list close to back and forward buttons, search bar, RSS, all traditional shortcuts working for tabs etc.) Both these bugs as well as interface - I think - will definitely be updated/fixed in public Beta. So far I'm content as to where does it head. There are other bugs which I posted to IE Blog -- not bad for a beta actually. Loading pages is faster, yes. Unfortunately switching between international keyboard layouts by Alt+Shift becomes broken by IE7B1; it also broke my Mouse Gestures plugin operation. So I regretfully had to deinstall the 7.B1 for time being after playing with it for an evening. For now it's back to IE6.0SP2 + MSN Toolbar + Mouse Gestures for me. Not for long, I hope, until Beta 2. Same sequence happened before with IE6, so no disappointment here. So far, so good, the work goes in the right direction. jedimasterk
You know what is funny. Microsoft only allows MSDN subscribers to download this app. What is so special about it. The Mozilla foundation allows anyone with a PC to download their beta software and offer feedback. This sounds a little cocky to me from Microsoft. Looks like their going back to their old ways, when new software is getting ready to ship. Remember the cheap $2.00 radios we all got for beta testing Office 2003. I still havn't forgiven them for that slap in the face for all my hard work. Stick with Firefox people. :)

greg098
one think i think they should add, is when u right click on one of your favourites, it should allow u to open in a new tab or window. It doesnt offer that atm like firefox.
Deathray
Now you know why this is NOT a public beta, because it not designed to impress you, it's the "plumbing" of the system as was said in an article
