What's the right speed for the Athlon XP 2000+?

Recommended Posts

I installed one of those in a perfectly compatible motherboard. When I check My Computer>Properties, the speed of that processor is 1.24 GHz. I was expecting something higher. What's wrong here?

Thanks for your help.

The right speed for the 2000+ should be 1.67GHz. Someone had a similar prob with their 1800+. Wasn't getting the full 1.53GHz.

Check your fsb, its probably at 100MHz right now. Turn it up to 133MHz and problem solved ;)

Actually he's just posting this again for some reason, the other similar post is by him also.

Additionally his question was answered, and as I said before, xStainDx was wrong.
