(Can you just upgrade from Windows XP? Or not yet?) Or slave driving it and dual booting with XP? P!P Posted July 29, 2005 Share Posted July 29, 2005 Just bought a computer from a friend to test Longhorn on. It's a 2.53Ghz P4 with 512MB. The hard drive was broke so I just put a old 20GB in there. It has Intel Extreme Graphics in it which caused a few problems but after installing the display driver it works fine. Longhorn flies on the system. It is the only OS it has on there. NVIDIA 6800 (using latest official driver, No DWM and DX9 seems to be broken according to DXDiag tool, Vista driver installed but also had broken DX9) Adaptec 29160 with 15K Hitachi (works fine) SB Audigy with KxAudio driver, reversed jack (works fine, official drivers have a bad static sound) VIA Velocity Gigabit (worked out the box) Weird problem with my SuperTalent Flash 512MB drive, as Vista reported bad blocks..? Hais Posted July 29, 2005 Share Posted July 29, 2005 dual booting between xp and vista b1 on my main pc amd barton 3200+ radeon 9600 128mb 2x512mb ddr400 sata raid 0 (2x80gb samsung drives) abit nfs-7 v2 got the raid 0 working fine, tv card works, sound works (but not in 5.1), bluetooth is installed but i havent tested it, damn modem wont install and neither will the ethernet controller :angry: still to test the printer and scanner but im not too worried about that.... :whistle: overall quite impressed- glass theme very nice to use, explorer even fades out when you close it lol Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
