I've got a Dell Inspiron 6000:

Intel Pentium M (centrino) 1.6ghz

512DDR2

60GB Hard Drive

Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910 Express Chipset 128mb

Sigmatel AC'97 Audio

Setup:

Dualbooting XP Pro w/ SP2 and Longhorn (Vista) Beta 1 (Partitioned)

Partition 1: XP Pro (42gb's)

Partition 2: Longhorn/Vista (11gb's)

Running at 1280 x 800 (widescreen)...

So far everything is working PERFECT.. sound and everything, my only issue is no DWM and i'm not sure if thats because intel hasnt released any LDDM drivers yet, or if it's simply because my graphic card doesnt support it.

I'm using it as my main OS for the time being... but im installing everything on C: just incase it starts to play up.. i can just go back to xp... and all will be good :)

right now im restoring all my back ups off my server... 5 hours and 41 mins remaining

AMD Athlon 1700+

Radeon 9600

512 MB RAM

Runs fine for me, about as fast as XP and all effects enabled. Faster if I disable some stuff.

I am running it as a test machine dual booting with XP 64 on a 20 gig partition.

Specs

AMD 64 X2 4400+

MSI 6600GT

MSI Neo4 Platinum

160 gig Serial HD

2 GIG Corsair Ram

Great specs but I still get no Glass effects, but I did install the 64 bit version of Vista B1 maybe I will try the 32 bit version.

Intel Pentium 4 2.67GHz

1.0 GB PC3200 DDR RAM

80GB Maxtor HDD

8x DVD-/+RW / CD-RW Combo drive, 52x32x52 CD-RW

ATi Radeon 9200 SE 128MB

It runs like a DREAM for me, it's faster than Windows XP and surprisingly a little more stable. No glass, but I still think this looks beautiful.

I'm running it in a dual boot with XP Pro on:

Pentium 4 3.2ghz

512mb ram

x300 128mb graphics card

a 20gb partition

I'm just testing it and XP remains my main OS. The Glass effects look amazing!!!  :woot:

586293815[/snapback]

Similar spec but I have 3.4 and 2g ram.

Runs great, in some ways feels faster than XP, probably just me though :p.

Installing was a breeze, clicked install, selected partition etc and left it to install. Didnt have to mess around with any SATA drivers, video card or anything. Runs on top visual style.

Got Vista running on my new box:

Dual booting Vista and XP, Vista is on a 120gb Seagate barracuda, while XP on a 74gb 10k Raptor. Storage is 2x250gb Maxtor Maxline III

Pentium D 830, water-cooled @ 3.8ghz.

1gb Corsair DDR2

Asus P5WD2 Premium

Power Color X700 256mb (dual DVI+HD)

I've tried both 32, and 64-bit versions. The 64bit took twice as long to install, but ran just as fast. All mobo-related drivers (Realtek Azelia 7.1 sound, Intel Tekoa gigabit, Marvell Gigabit, and all SATA controllers) worked flawlessly. The sound I had to manually install, everything else was auto-detected.

Picking RAID drivers during setup was buggy.. it showed about 100 of the same drivers on the list, and after picking them 2 or 3 times, it works and the HDDs load up.

In case you are an IM junkie, I could not get AIM to work on the 64bit version, but it works fine on the 32bit version.

Speed-wise, I can't really tell if its slower than XP, but it probably is. (being Beta and all)

4x250Gb SATA discs, of which Vista has its own :)

Still having problems with sound on the audigy. Ugh.

Can't use my second DVI display either.

Asus A8N-SLI (nforce 4 ultra)

Athlon 64 3800+ @ 2.9ghz

2gb Corsair XMS Twinx

2x 6800u

Audigy 2 ZS platinum

Boot drive = 4x wd raptor 36g`s in raid 0 on Nvraid

My only 2 problems =

1) If i instlal the vista Nvidia Geforce driver, it works and I cna use Glass , but i have no SLI support :( so im running on 1 GPU for the moment :( - waiting for the next release of the river :)

2) No direcsound :( this means jittery sound and poor performance in games due to software audio rendering. - this is a bug that was in build 4058 of Longhorn alpha , and it was fixed with a patch somone did, this patch breaks beta 1 , so im hoping whoever made it will make one for Beta 1 :) , or at least tell us what (s)he did ? Does anyone know any more about this, liek who made the patch ? and how it worked?
