From what I know it's too late, they're not taking any more beta applications - for Beta1 at least.

And MSDN isn't really an option anyhow, Universal isn't cheap.

Unfortunately mate if your not a BETA tester, you can't use the software.

Wait until the final release comes out and is in your local shop.

I'm running on a Dell Optiplex GX270 with a 3.0GHz Pentium 4 w/HyperThreading, 1GB RAM, 128MB nVidia GeForce FX 5200. Glass is enabled, and works perfectly :D

Also dual-booting with XP

I've got a Dell Inspiron 6000:

Intel Pentium M (centrino) 1.6ghz

512DDR2

60GB Hard Drive

Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910 Express Chipset 128mb

Sigmatel AC'97 Audio

I'm running it on an Inspiron 9300, which has the same audio and network cards as the 6000, but I can't get them to work. In fact, when I boot up with the network card turned on in the BIOS, the system freezes right after booting slowly.

and the only thing it didn't pick up was the SATA controller Everything works like a charm including the glass effects.

ASUS A7N8X Deluxe (NForce2 chipset)

NVidia 6600GT

IBM 80GB Deskstar

Intel PRO/1000 GT Adapter

All components work, sound was made to work by downloading the audio drivers from the NVidia site.

Hello guys,

I test Vista Build 5112 On :

Dell Latitude D610

Intel Pentium M Processor 730 (1.60GHz)

512MB DDR2 400MHz SDRAM

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900

24X CD-RW/DVD

40GB Hard Drive (5400RPM)

Does not run well at all. I have a feeling that it is running so slow because of the processor speed because I installed this one a desktop with a P4 running at 2.8GHz (and HyperThreading) and 512MB of memory and it runs just fine on it.

Dual booting with XP Pro on a:

Dell Inspiron 5100

- Intel Pentium 4 "Northwood" @ 2.4GHz

- 512MB DDR SDRAM

- ATi Mobility Radeon 7500

It runs surprisingly well on a machine that's about 2.5 years old...better than I expected it to. Obviously no fancy Glass effects and animations though.

Will be running Beta 2 on a new desktop that I'm going to build with the stuff we got from Microsoft at the x64 launch - the Athlon64 4000+ and a PCI-Express GeForce 6800. :)

Dual boot on separate dedicated drive and without the drive containing the XP system available in Vista. My system is:

AMD 64 3500+ (running the 64-bit version)

2gb ram

Asus A8V Deluxe

X800XT PE

15gb for system

Everything works fine except for the SATA drives that I run in IDE mode. No suitable drivers for the on-board Promise FastTrak 378 it seems.

Intel Pentium 4 "Northwood" @ 2.4GHz

1024MB DDR SDRAM

Asus GeForce 5600 videosuite

Everything runs smoothly with nice effects. Alot faster than any of the alpha builds. seems to crash often though, which is of course, expected.
