What are you running Vista on?

Recommended Posts

Dual booting with XP Pro.

System specs:

Abit IC7-Max3

Pentium 4 3.2ghz w/ht

2gb pc3200 XLPro Corsair RAM

X800 XTPE agp x8

Sound blaster Audigy 2 zs

Its relatively stable (enough for web browsing and IRCing). Some games i have don't work.

Having problems with my router (Netgear DG834g) where i cannot access the administration site. MSN Messenger won't connect and Azureus cannot use the routers uPnP functionality. Web browsing works ok though.

The audigy 2 cz... don't even go there. Not really good enough yet to use as a main on my system at least.

Currently Running:

- MSI K7N2 Delta-L

- AMD 2800+ Barton

- 1024MB DDR400

- 120GB & 160GB Maxtor HDD

- Lite-On 16x Dual Layer DVD+/-RW

- Samsung 52x CD-RW

- ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB 256-bit

After initial install, everything was fine. I had the glass effect and everything. I installed the ATI beat drivers and everything went to hell. Even uninstalling the driver didn't fix the problem. Glass effect is gone and it is as if I had no driver installed at all. Microsoft reinstalled its driver but nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

I've got a Dell Inspiron 6000:

Intel Pentium M (centrino) 1.6ghz

512DDR2

60GB Hard Drive

Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910 Express Chipset 128mb

Sigmatel AC'97 Audio

I'm running it on an Inspiron 9300, which has the same audio and network cards as the 6000, but I can't get them to work. In fact, when I boot up with the network card turned on in the BIOS, the system freezes right after booting slowly.

586300732

Did you installed the drivers from Dell for Windows XP? worked for me I have an 8600 with Sigmatel Audio you can also try the Intel AC97 drivers from the Vista CD but just worked for the first time because after a reboot Windows Audio service had a memory leak.

Dell Latitude D610

Intel Pentium M Processor 730 (1.60GHz)

512MB DDR2 400MHz SDRAM

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900

24X CD-RW/DVD

40GB Hard Drive (5400RPM)

Does not run well at all. I have a feeling that it is running so slow because of the processor speed because I installed this one a desktop with a P4 running at 2.8GHz (and HyperThreading) and 512MB of memory and it runs just fine on it.

586302652

I also have Pemtium M 1.6GHz with 512MB RAM and it runs pretty well, I gues your problem is your Intel Graphics Media Accelerator.

Dual boot with XP Pro

P4/3.4

Asus P5DG2 Deluxe MB

2GBDDR2

GeForce 6600/256

Working

Nero 6.6.0.15

CCleaner

RegSupreme Pro 1.1

Window Washer 6

FireFox 1.0.6 :)

nVidia 75.03 LDDM Drivers (Couldn't get glass effect until I installed this one)

Not Working

Avast Home antivirus (loaded and installed fine but it cut off my internet connection)

Daemon Tools - BSOD. Each time I rebooted it would load an installed driver and reboot.

Sound card drivers - Nothing has worked so far.

I thought it was really cool after installing Vista it automatically detected and installed my ethernet and nVidia video drivers

and I was connected to the internet right away.

Main OS on Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop

Intel Pentium M 1.6 GHz

855PM Chipset

512 MB RAM

40 GB HDD

nVidia GeForce Go5650/128

Intel PRO/Wireless2100AB

Everything works out of the box except PCI Modem and some random "Unknown Device" which I can't identify. Of course, still waiting for NVidia to release LDDM drivers for mobile.

Maybe it's a smart card reader, mine doesnt have one but my sister's 600m has one or maybe an IR port?

If you don't want to wait for nvidia try a modded inf :p http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/

Go into DevMan and force the Standard VGA adapter, reboot and install the original Microsoft LDDM ATI driver. That should fix it. I had a similar problem with my GF 6600GT and that fixed me right up.
