I voted Windows :D But PC doesn't mean Windows. You can install all kinds of crap to PC

Mac is pretty but that's all

Go Baby (read Bill Gates) Go

anyone who picked mac needs to be taken out of their missery

You've got the correct words, they're just out of order. No OS is more emulated, more drooled over than OS X. After 9-10 years of Windows I'll never be heading back, there's no comparison. Your post would more accurately state: Anyone who's picked a Mac has been taken out of their misery.

edit: ack....ancient thread...

I prefer the mac but the PC is easier and smoother for me to use. Especially when itcomes to video editing.

i'm surprized that u prefer the windows over the mac in video editing

just curious what video editing programs are you using?

flame wars are amazing you learn so much

last win vs mac flame war (on the mac forum) i learned so many simple things that windows XP could do that the osx couldnt do

I do like how osx cant get viruses unless you give it ur admin password

have your sympathy why?

because we don't worry about getting hacked?

because we don't worry about virii?

because there isnt a new patch coming out for osx everyday to fix what the last patch should have fixed?

cos our software update actually works?

feel free to elaborate on why you feel sorry for us.

Totally off-topic, but just to let you know, there is no such word as "virii".

On topic: Mac.

Wow ... almost a philosophical question ...

Current Answer: Mac or Windows, depending on your computing style because they are very different from one another

Next's year resolution: Vista :)

Same thing could most definitely be said the other way round: there are so many things that a Mac can do out of the box that requires extra software on XP.

(and 'Miran' i don't care if there's no such word as 'virii' - you knew what was meant, so what's the big deal?)

Long time Windows user, tried out a mac... now after a mini, I'm owning a Powerbook.

These polls are over and done with. I'd like to see a poll with the following options instead:

1. PC (And always PC)

2. PC (And used a mac before)

3. Mac (Always Mac)

4. Mac (Switcher, used a PC before)

5. Indifferent (Use both)

That would make a much more informal poll.

Cheers,

lieb39

Choice is different depending who you are.

If you're power user currently using UNIX/Linux then you'll probably go for Mac since it is a secure 64bit UNIX system based on BSD, if you are a gamer then probably you'll go for Windows because Windows offers wider range of games and applications, but you also should be aware of risks using Windows since it is targeted by spyware and similar software and requires patching every 1-2 months. If you like Windows better than you should get yourself good antivirus (NOD32), do not click on suspicious popups/links and see that your system is always updated.

17 years in IT and i've always used a PC untill about 3 months ago. OH GOD why did i not swap to a Mac sooner.

And i have found an app for everything i used the windows box for , newsreaders, xvid conversion, svcd conversion, xbox iso extraction, blah blah blah.... but what it helps with over the Windows PC is DV movie converstions.creation which is a breeze.

However for file storage and the occational game i use the Windows box. Which i have downgraded from a 64bit 3200 to a Athlon XP 1700 cause i just don't need it.

5 for me

I'm indifferent. I use both. I can't decide on which to stick with. I still love my PC, and I love my mac mini. The mac mini can't play two of the games that I would like to play, but the mac mini is so beautiful looking. I changed my desktop on my PC to look like my mac though.

I don't like Macs, I like Mac OS X though. I've been dual booting OSx86 for about 3 weeks now and I love it. Pretty much everything works, I just have to boot into XP to play games and such. On an OS with such limited compatibility and support I'm surprised how stable it is, even on AMD hardware. :)
