Ohwhyme
Should I spend money on a new graphic card or monitor or even a new processor or save cash? I don't really need a flat screen to save space cause i got enough space already. I mainly use my graphic card for gaming. Here are my specs: Athlon XP 1800+ (1.53 ghz) 512 mb kingston ddr ram Geforce 2 Pro 17 inch sony g200 crt monitor

sunshock
hmm... looking at the graphics card, i'd say yes but the current geforce cards are just way too expensive, nice kit though!. the ATI's are good but not really powerful when it comes to gaming, I was running an all-in-wonder 8200 on xp with my athlon xp 1500 and got a 3dmark score of 3000, not good. switched it over to a geforce 4 ti4400 and went up to 9300, was 7400 with a geforce 3 ti 500, so still the ATI's have a lot of ground to cover to get even decent performance. don't go for the new geforce 4 mx cards as they tend to use software to stave off some of the tasks they can't do and give it to your athlon rather than do it themselves, not good. for now, try a second hand geforce 3 or if cash-a-plenty, go for a geforce 4 ti 4400; but not a 4600 as that adds an extra ?100 to the price for the little difference it gives. your call, but remember, nvidia are working on new cards all the time (rumour has it a new card in november/christmas) and Matrox have a new card in the works, SIS are releasing one, and i wouldn't be surpised with all the talk of DirectX 9 and AGP 8x that ATI don't release one too! good hunting. :old:
