well from what I heard it doesnt do much for machines running windows xp, but that was some time ago I heard that so perhaps further versions have improved and now it is

For future reference youd probably really be better posting this is the software assistance, or tweakers forum.

yea, it actually works,

but I don't think its need on XP, if you have more then 128MB

RAM. if you have more then 128MB RAM and still feel of slow

system performance, then try O&O Clever Cache Pro.

But it will works Only when you open too many programs.

if u have 512 ram u wouldnt be using it

if u have around 384 u wouldnt be using it

and even 256 u well maybe

and its only if ur really lagging in memory resource and u use it u will notice a difference

thanks, brilliant stuff here, much appreciated.

think i'll have a go at O&O Clever Cache Pro v4.

just wanna see if these things can actually affect the the speed of a windows xp machine.

ages ago I had a program called MagnaRAM running on an old windows 95 machine, worked wonders in cacheing files and generally speeding up system performace.

these days however, with rapidly improving technology it would be nice to see if these third-party tools can actually take affect to a fully protected-mode o/s.

can but help.

thanks again!;)

i use RAMpage, works like a charm

specially for programs that dont allocate the memory back to the system when they exit.

my xp comp has 512mb and been up for 18days :) and when ram usage gets to around 400mb it soon cleans itself up to only using between 150 and 170mb ram. When it gets to 400mb it usually starts to lag a bit as it frees ram but only for a few seconds.

Usually playing a game or somethin takes quite a bit of ram usually makes xp free ram up so i dont think xp needs helping with ram usage :)
