Shekers
I too have this problem and I also came to the conclusion it has to do with the monitor, i spent a good hour and a half trying to work around this and finally gave up and went to the stock LDDM drivers, I have DWM working and my games perform above average.I will just wait till the next release of the vista drivers .. 586300118 wait...what stock LDDM drivers? I thought 75.03 was the only drivers that supported LDDM...i know they say 77.52 is compatible...but my 6600GT didnt have glass... From reading Microsoft betanews newsgroup...this problem only happens to Analog displays. If you have a DVI display, you should be fine... iceburg386
6800 GT and DirectX 9 isnt working >( 586308581 Did you install the 75.03 drivers at least? I know on my computer the drivers do enable glass but it you want to see the whole screen you have to use 640x480 as your res. I couldnt find drivers for my monitor (Sony Silicon Graphics GDM-5021PT) but I tried other various version and that didnt work.

neoxphuse
I have a FX5200 but I can't enable the glass effect? Is it just suppose to be in the themes? I'm running the 64-bit version.

Just Direct3D with DirectX 9 isn't working. I'm using the lastest nvidia vista beta 1 drivers.

That's why nVidia came out with 75.03, but it doesnt work with displays that are plugged into the analog plug...people using the DVI works tho. seltzer
I too had the same problem, and was working with no glass (until now...). After reading the posts above, I tried to connect my 2nd monitor (ViewSonic E70) to the DVI (with converter) port of my 6600 card, along with my 20" Sun monitor (very old). And after a reboot, behold!! :woot: Glass working in 1280*1024!! So I guess the problem is somehow related to the monitor configuration - as a couple of people mentioned above. The wierd thing is, when I uncheck the option to extend my desktop to the ViewSonic monitor and hit Apply, the Glass effects dissappears. When I recheck - Glass returns. So now I have the 2nd moitor sitting under the table doing nothing but giving me Glass!! I really hope this helps somebody, cause I was really disappointed not seeing any eyecandy (or worse - seeing it but to not be able to use it...) Guy Edit: I'm using the drivers from nVidia's site - 75.03 (I think - I installed and changed them so meny times I can't really be sure... ) Edited August 2, 2005 by seltzer
