don't use nod32...that's what was causing my super high CPU usage...

i was going to try and use onecare since i was using it in Win. 32, but it won't let me download it in Longhorn Beta 1....

i guess i can try Avast later and see if it works...

anyone using anything without any issues?

wow, NOD32 using a lot of CPU, I guess there's a first time for everything. Perhaps an incompatibility with Longhorn.

Kaspersky is about the only other one I'd consider using.

In terms of detection, Norton is a fine scanner, shame about their terrible UI. I've used Symantec Anti-Virus at work and turned the compile time for an Application I work on from an average of 8 seconds to about 23 seconds so I wouldn't recommend that (and I'm sure there people who'll dispute this, but this is how it is from my experience). I've seen both Avast and AVG miss viruses (more so with AVG) so I wouldn't bother with them. I've always had issues with McAfee software but they might have got their act together by now.

It's probablly not my bussiness lol...But, dont u think it would be better that you start a new topic related to a firewall question ?(as the creator of this topic is asking the anti virus proggy)

But, ive tried to install zonealarm pro 6.0 and it gave me an error message..that visintll.dll error or something like that...... so i think windows firewall will be good now....

BitDefender Free Edition is the AV that I put on all of my customers machines. It has found viruses that Norton and McAfee miss. I use Sygate Personal Firewall, but think Zone Alarm is pretty good too.
