Dell sound card drivers?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a Dell Optiplex GX270, which has an integrated sound card.

Windows Vista does not recognize it, does anyone know if I can get drivers for it?

Rant and unhelpful : That's another problem i have with buying a dell. Driver and BIOS support dies off near instantaneously (unless they make it perfect? hmm....)

For somereason, i havent experienced any problems running beta 1 on my dell laptop besides being unable to get DWM to work...

the sound is working, but only when i use something like Windows Media Player/Winamp... windows sounds do not work by default for somereason...

what sound card is it?... is it just the AC97 one?

no sounds work at all.

I tried installing in XP compatibility mode, but that didn't work either.. I guess I could try it again

the one that comes with an Optiplex GX270

when I reinstalled, it said something about "no ADI codec" or something like that when Vista started up

there should bea folder at C:|drivers by default. your sounds card driver should be in that already, you can just manually install it via device manager.

That is what I had to do to get my card working( I also have a DELL).
