Not really the administrator

has anyone else notice how many things your denied permission for in Vista?.....I borked my installtion and had to reinstall.....well it kept a file called "Windows.old" of the previous installation and would not let me delete it. it appears there's new user called "trusted installations" if your not a member of the group you can't touch system files. maybe good for the n00bs though.

I still haven't figured out how to get into routing and remote access.

I couldn't create a new internet connection without editing group policy

this seems a little heavey handed for the developers/IT pros that this beta is suppose to be for.

I thought that was odd too... my only thought was maybe it does not work as of now so instead of an error message they just made it so you have to be apart of a nonexistent group...

I tried adding myself to the Trusted Installers group, and was still unabkle to delete my windows.OLD directories

this sucks becuase that is using up ~30gigs that I would otheriwase have available.

I also tried taking ownership of the folder via the security settings panel, setting effective permissons, and removing read-only status.

no matter what I tried I was still unable to delete the folder.

my only other thought is to boot into safe mode and try delting it VIA command line, but I have yet tried that.

I will let you know if I figure it out; also if anybody has a btter suggestion I would appreciate it :)
