You can use a visualstyle with WB installed by unloading windowblinds, and double clicking the .msstyles file while holding down "ctrl". :)

Then you did it wrong. ;) I have WB installed on a computer while using a VisualStyle. It works. You have to keep holding ctrl when the window opens too.
