hannisen
Hey, I was hoping someone here could help me out with my network. I've got one computer running XP and one running XP/Vista. When I run both in XP the network works fine, but when I browse the network in Vista it doesn't find my XP system. Any ideas much appriciated, thanks! If you never changed your XP workgroup it usually defaults to "MSHOME". You can change your workgroup in vista by right clicking "Computer", goto properties and click the "Computer Name" tab. Then on there should be a "Change" button.
Ryan V
I believe this may have something to do with it... The Computer Browser Service used to find other computers in My Network Places. It is disabled starting with this release of "Longhorn" versions of Windows.Source: Release Notes
hannisen
Yes, I tried changing the name of the workgroup, didn't help. Also, the Computer Browser service is set to automatic here. Will try to manually start it first. Update: Trying to manually start it gives me Error 126 - Specified module could not be found, so that's probably it.
