Here is more information:

It worked on my sp2 before but doesnt work here. When I run winamp, I get: ---------------------------

DirectSound output v2.32 (d) error

---------------------------

Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration.

Error code: 88780078

---------------------------

OK

---------------------------

Do I uninstall all my drivers in safe mode and get them auto re-installed or what?

Same boat here BlinX.  I've tried several of the Audigy 2 drivers with no luck.  I might try some of the AC 97 just for the heck of it.

Check over on the Creative web site in their Forum area. I ran into the same problem with my SB Live 5.1 and no sound and not being able to install the drivers. I'm going to try this when I get home

Hope it helps

I have the realtek sound card as well and as soon as I installed the XP drivers it works great. I hope in beta 2 they add some new sounds instead of using the XP sounds.

BlinX,

I've got a Live! 5.1 card as well and couldn't get it to install using the setup program either. I finally extracted everything in the driver download (the 23+ meg download at soundblaster.com) using WinZip then went in and installed the driver manually in the Device Manager - now I've got sound :) Hope this helps you out.

Im having the same problems. I've been looking for about 2 hours now to find an answer and couldn't find any. I've been looking on Creative and i couldn't find a .zip file all of them were exe's. What happended to me when i downloaded the exe and ran it, it looked like it was extracting them and then the program just closes out. Executor do you have a link to the .zip file you downloaded?

BlinkX, I got it to work i downloaded the .exe file from Creative and opened it with winrar. Then, i clicked on the drivers.cab and extracted that. And Clicked on CTZAPXX.EXE and it updated the driver for me and asked me to reboot. I rebooted then it worked. I made a .rar file for you and uploaded it on megaupload.com to save you the trouble. No need for the cab file just click on CTZAPXX.EXE once you open the .rar file :p then it will install the soundcard driver and reboot and everything will work :D
