benplace
And the sidebar, and the new device manager, etc.... Seems they stripped alot out to get this Beta out. Weird way to handle things.
y_notm
They haven't been RI'ed into winmain yet. MS has a new policy on features in that new features have to be pretty far along in development to be added into winmain (I believe this is correct, someone clarify if it isn't)
freak_power
4051 Build looked better to me...
chavo
The sidebar and the dock are UI disasters. MS has realized this and pulled this horrific code out from Vista. If you want a painful UI existence download your own crappy dock or sidebar.

uniacidz
The download manager as stated is in development and so, for the beta release, they have withdrawn it. Only the main developed/stable features are included.
Angel Blue01
So will it be in final? And not look so much like Firefox?
Commodore Max
So will it be in final? And not look so much like Firefox? 586315137 Only time will tell, this is after all a beta...
FreqFace
And not look so much like Firefox? 586315137 You're joking, right? You're saying a small box with a list of files looks like Firefox's download manager..? It's just a window... showing some files... how else do you want it to shown? All these miniscule comparisons to Firefox are getting ridiculous... am I the only one who's thinking this? And I'm glad to see IE with a download manager myself. Kr0z
Just wait for Beta 2 to be released, maybe they took out the download manager in Beta 1 because it wasn't ready or they may be redesigning it. ;)
ShadowPHP
I never knew about this in any build of LH. Very interesting and have often wished it was in XP because the current 'Save As' download box is horrible and takes up too much space on my taskbar! (a whole 1 space!!!) todd
Why hasn't anyone pointed out the fact that they restarted work on Longhorn since the 4xxx builds? IIRC, they ditched what they had and started over based on Server 2003 with SP1.
