Vista Install

Sorry if its been posted already.

Just wondering if I will have any problems having Vista installed on a second partition with XP on another.

I won't have any bootloader problems will I?

Quick question on this same topic... What if I decided to install this on a second partition that already has preexisting files on it (Not the windows xp partition, but another with other pieces of software)...

Think it's safe to install it to this partition? Would the installation format the partition? Can I do this without a format to the partition?

Just wondering because if that is the case I'm going to save an image of my entire harddisk before I pull this off...

I have had issues installing vista, but i can't say what is causing them

my HD is split up into partitions, but vista won't install... Regardless if i start the install from XP, or via Boot DVD...

Once the longhorn bootlogo comes up, the screen just goes black and stays black... nothing ever happens ... Sad :(
