ps 6 loaded in about 15s, ps7 in 4. that's reason enough for me. although, psp7 loads in about 2, so when i just need to do easy stuff, psp7 is my default image editor.

I wish they had 6.5 :)

6 has its good points and so does 7.

But 7 does have that little extra kick to it.

Go ahead give it a try. If you dont like it just roll back.

PS7 is nice, but it seems to bog down my machine a lot more than PS6. Seems like a major memory hog. Anyone else have this problem?

Yeah, as a matter I do too. I put it down as a crappy-something on my system (see the sig, it's nothing special). I still do prefer PS7 to PS6 though.

Tsk, tsk, so sad.

You can set your Undos higher, but it's memory dependent. So the more the have, the more resources it's going to take away from other things.

PS7 is MUCH faster than PS6. Going from PS5 to PS6 was like stepping into a puddle of molasses... PS6 was SO bulky and SO slow... PS7 is much faster. Back in line with what PS6 ought to have been.

Now the question is does that speed boost outweigh some of the questionably good changes that have been made?

i'd take ps elements over all of them...

I prefere Elements to, it is easier to use and can do just as much :)

i thought elements was just a slimmed down version of PS, no?

and what are some of the "questionable" changes that they made?

I prefer PS7. It starts up faster and runs faster. The plugins seem to run slightly faster as well. I only have one complaint about PS7 though. I can't use KPT3. I can use all of my other plugins but there appears to be some kind of compatibility issue w/ KPT3. Whenever I invoke one fo the KPT3 tools and then hit the ok or cancel button, PS7 appears to lock up on me.

Does anyone else have this problem w/ KP3? BTW, I am running XP Pro w/ 512 MB RAM.

Both 5.5, 6 & 7 are better than 4:P

Scripting, better vector text and super brushes all make 7 superfly cool, not to mention the new GUI icons...pretty tool panel!
