I just ran a registry scan using stompsofts Registry Repair on almost a fresh copy of windows vista. It detected 860 problems out of a total of 246255 Registry items. Just thought ill share.

wow, OK.

a) that program isn't designed to work on Windows Vista.

b) the registry as you know it may not exist further along the line.

c) most importantly, Windows Vista is BETA quality code!

Yeah i know all that... but the weirdest thing is that Vista did run a heck of alott better after i fixed all the detected errors. I got absolutly no errors and it seemed to slightly speed it up. Kinda weird aint it?

how surprising.. You sure Vista is beta? Because I could swear it was final. Maybe check the iso agains DB or download new thingamabob. The bugs have broken your vista. Impressive

first off,, stop being an a**... second.. From what ive seen so far, the registry problem has not neccerilly been documented as a bug. I just found it interesting about how many errors it found immediatly after install. Even with bugs at this stage in beta it shouldnt be like that as well as its also impairing the performance of the system.

so, your HD has bad sectors or the iso you downloaded on some BT site is corrupted or not burned proper. It can happen to any OS, beta or retail. Filling a bug report about a corrupt registry after installation, now that installation is image based in longhorn will not help anybody : the problem just can't be blamed on the install process. The problem is with your hardware or 12 inches from the screen.
