Mouldy Punk
From slashdot: Paul Thurrott, a journalist that usually writes about all things windows related (and sometimes about Apple affairs too), made a call in a recent article to boycott Internet Explorer, due to Microsoft's approach (continued in IE7) of not supporting web standards: 'My advice here is simple: Boycott Internet Explorer. It is a cancer on the Web, and must be stopped. IE is insecure and is not standards-compliant, which makes it unworkable for both end users and Web content creators... You can turn the tide by demanding better from Microsoft and using a better alternative Web browser. I recommend and use Mozilla Firefox, but Apple Safari (Mac only) and Opera 8 are both worth considering as well Link Basically, MS haven't bumped up IE's intelligence as far as web standards go - which still makes it a pain the back-side for web devs. I was hoping IE7 would support CSS alot better than IE6 - apparently not. Of course the current release is only a beta - but will MS really change IE's engine? According to the article, they won't bother. What's your take on this? If MS don't bump up IE's intelligence for the final release, will you still use it anyway? Or will you use a browser that understands web standards? Mouldy Punk
I doubt they'd rewrite IE's engine in the time between beta and final.
