tmx220
Hey i was just wondering if anyone noticed the glass effects dissappearing when i larger application like itunes is opened? Is there anyway to make the glass effects stay and not disappear when these programs are open thx. :D
Hiiragi Tsukasa
No, but Apple doesn't follow the Windows UI standard and make their iTunes look pretty. I hate that. So I don't see how it would work with glass since they basically made it a clone of the OS X version. Other than that, if you maximize a window yes, that is supposed to happen, just like in 4074 when you had Jade on. When it was maximized the titlebar turned black instead of light purple-white. tmx220
hmm yeah i figured that i didn't mean that itunes would gain the glass affects because i know it can't im talking about other application windows like computer and documents etc... But u already answered my question as to the glass disappearing thx for the quick response :D

Xtreme $niper
I have experienced the glass effect to be completely disabled when using programs like Limewire or Quicktime. Even after closing the program the glass effect does not immediately come back. I usually have to reopen and close the programs again to get the glass effect to come back. It's a bug but its to be expected in a beta, especially since quicktime and limewire are not "official" supported programs yet.
dsteele_7
I've had the EXACT same thing happen with both iTunes and Limewire... As well when I play a file in iTunes I get some popping sounds along with the regular sound of the file however if I play the EXACT same file in WMP then it's click (more of a pop actually but w.e)-free. I think that the reason glass gets turned off is that maybe it's emulating in order to run iTunes and Limewire. Also it makes sense that both Limewire and iTunes would cause the same thing to happend since I do know that Limewire does use some of the same technologies (DAAP or w/e it's called) Either way I find it annoying, especially since glass is disable even when Limewire is minized to the System Tray

Xtreme $niper
Yeah quicktime (which is what itunes runs on anyways) seems to be making weird noises when playing back (and it also seems to play the audio in videos a tad faster than the video footage itself). I'll try that tip next time im in Vista, but my whole icons disappearing problem is discouraging me a bit... dsteele_7
Thnx for the tip... I forgot that Quicktime uses DirectSound by default... and Seeing how DirectSound isn't in Vista (or at least doesn't work right in vista) that makes sense...
