ATLien_0
Im finally running it, Im running it on a 6 year old 8 gig hard drive, which should be slow, but Vista runs really fast on my computer much faster than the Alphas. Thursday Im gonna put it on my tablet and see what happens Is it safe to run this as the default OS, All my drivers seem to be working Also are there any tweaks out yet, any other themes? betadan
glad to hear that it's running great for you but i would suggest running it as a dual boot, so that if you need to format vista you won't have to lose your non replaceable files

Hiiragi Tsukasa
wow can you tell us what are your complete PC specs?i'm on a celeron 733 mhz 128 RAM,could i possibly install vista? 586316643 I doubt it. Plus if you have an old card it's most likely just going to be Aero instead of Aero-glass.
ATLien_0
my specs are in my signature as far as the celeron with 128 ram, no xp barely runs on 128 sp why would vista also i didnt think glass would be in until beta 2, or will more of aero/avalon come? ev0|
It is nowhere near safe enough to use as a main OS, install some stuff and run it for a while, you'll see.

Malbojia
I dunno but the default install with th 38 processes at boot make this Venice 3000+ crawl.
Hiiragi Tsukasa
It might be able to run then, but I'm still not totally sure since Beta 1 was ment to be used from nearly new hardware to the bleeding edge.
offroadaaron
vista is still very buggy i wouldnt use it as my main OS atm i have a window i cant get rid off everything loads slowly and random reboots, i have already had 1 blue screen of death and had to reinstall the OS, its good but not even close to being ready but good luck using it as a main OS
Dr.Jones
The hardware compatibility list is thin : Vista Beta 1 might work great for someone with a specific specs, and crash randomly for someone else. Until more Longhorn Drivers are released, hardware support won't cut it for a main OS.

GCNaddict
Also are there any tweaks out yet, any other themes? 586316559 well Ive already released the first "3rd party" theme for windows vista a few days ago, and the first "3rd party" logon mod for vista just today. while the theme and the logon are somewhat ugly, you can expect a much cleaner theme tomorrow for tweaks, I say go to aeroXP because they usually carry the best tweaks when it comes to longhorn :)
