No because you can't do everything you can on Vista as you would on XP, plus another build is being given out at PDC.

@Martyn: No, it only disables some features, but since Vista hasn't been out for more than 15 days we don't know what.

Doesnt it expire after 15 days as well?

no, you have to activate after that, but if since everyone here that has it is a *tries not to laugh* legal beta tester, there should be absoutly no problem with that.

No way. There should be a rule against it! Sure, the Vista beta is relatively stable and its fun to muck around with for a bit. But no way should it be even classed as someones primary OS.

I have a few computers set up here at my desk through a KVM switch. For the last few days I've been using Windows Vista Beta 1 almost exclusively. However there is still so much it can't do - that's where my Windows XP computer comes in! Just a quick button press and I can perform any task I need.

My vote goes yes!

I have installed Vista last weekend and it has been running like a top. No crashes, not a single BSOD. All drivers fully working and Nvidia LDDM, nicely. I have dual boot setup and have been using it for my primary OS. I won't stick with it, until it hits RTM, but it has been fun so far!

No. What's the point? First of all it's still in beta phase and obviously far from being complete. Second of all I don't want to spoil the fun until it hits the shelves.

I have been using it day to day sence it's release on a second computer and it is not to bad but not ready for prim time yet. So no i would not use it as my main OS

No, but primarily because its feature-incomplete and i don't want to move all my stuff over to it.

If Beta 2 (Which will be signficantly more feature-complete apparently) is as stable and speedy as Beta 1 (i'm impressed at how zippy it is even on my sorta old system) then i might be more likely then. But even then i'll probably still keep it in dual-boot configuration until RTM.
