NeoXY
I don't think the 8500 handles it. I think you need to have AT LEAST a 9500 to even see the effect...
iconboy
that sucks! :( do u think an nvidia GO5200 would work? its on my laptop
NeoXY
does it suport DirectX9? I think you need to have the 5600, but I could be wrong. But I am positive on the 9500...
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted August 4, 2005 Veteran Share Posted August 4, 2005 According to this, the FX5200 supports the glass effects in Windows Vista BETA 1. This may be the same for the go5200.
InternalStorm
What about TweakVista?
JoHideo
I can confirm the 9500 works as that is what I have in my desktop. On an aside... How could I get an Audigy 2 working? I can't seem to find drivers for it.
Vice
You know what I find funny, when Tiger beta's were around any support threads were closed immediately but ones for Vista beta 1 stay ;) Just an observation.

LTD
The Radeon 8500 is NOT DirectX9 compliant. You'll need a newer videocard that is DirectX9 compliant (most new ones are.) This does not mean you need one that was manufactured this year. Alot of 2 year old cards are DirectX9 compliant, too. I believe the Radeon 9600 model and up will work fine.
