wait for nv30 or get a gf4?

i know i know...its one of those questions. well right now i have the money to get a leadtek 4400 but i was wondering whether i should just hold out for a nv30 (geforce5). im itching to upgrade :) right now using a gf2 from hercules. not the greatest but gets the job done.

nvidia are filled of surprises. My strategy with them is staying ne generation back in graphic cards cause usually having the latest doesn't do much except MAD ANAL fps and AA.

I would say just go for the leadtek gf4 ti4400 and they O/C very well so do that too :china:

the day the gf5 will be out... which game will need such a card? the doom 3 engines demands a gf4 for OPTIMIZED speed so... no worries there I guess

As soon as the GF4 was out the GF5 was round the corner. As soon as the GF5 is out things will start to leak about the GF6. You can never keep waiting for GF(n+1) where GFn is the current generation - they come around too quickly. Just go for it. :)

Hell, I'm still considering getting a GF3, cos I can't afford three figures for a graphics card and the GF3 is the best I can do for under a hundred quid. So if you can afford a GF4 4400 you're probably gonna be in the top 0.5% of graphics performing systems in the world anyhow!

i think im gonna wait now till end of summer when i upgrade the rest (whatever the latest amd cpu is and new asus kt400 boardat that time) that way i can take full advantage of the card. hopefully by then prices have dropped a little. thanks for the help though :)
