thop Posted August 4, 2005 Share Posted August 4, 2005 I enabled the IO APIC option in my BIOS and now Windows isn't booting anymore, disabling IO APIC doesn't help anymore. I get the boot screen and all seems to work but when Windows switches to the login screen i get a black screen instead and it will just hang there forever. I tried to boot from the XP disc and repair the installation, but i'm not offered any option to repair the installation, i can only relocate the Windows folder or delete the Windows installation. I only had an original XP disc so i slipstreamed SP2 but that still doesn't work. What can i do to restore the system? I assume that some file must be broken but which one is it. Please help.
