Thank God my child will never be subjected to this drivel quoted by the poster.

What would happen if one of your kids become gay? Would you still love them or shun them?

An interesting choice of words there, and I agree with you that they would have to become gay.

I will always love my daughter, a parents love should be unconditional. But she's very well grounded, that will never happen.

why must Aristotle post every 15 seconds?

Neowin staff have no problem with it so I see no reason for this shallow attempt at censorship.

But she's very well grounded, that will never happen.

Awesome right turn to avoid the question there. So much for that unconditional love you've been hiding behind.

I'd rather have the children of today grow up with more diverse understandings rather than some one way opinion.

Then you should be against this being shoved down peoples throats.

Way to ignore the answer that preceded the line that got under your skin...let me repeat it for you.

I thought it was generally accepted that people cannot become gay. They either are or are not.

Don't mind them Adonai. People only see what they want to see. I see that a lot of people are making assumptions about others based on their existing prejudices.

Trolls like to paint people with broad brushes and view people through stereotypes rather than looking at the individual. It's a defense mechanism to prevent them from having to examine their beliefs about people or certain groups in our society.

I didn't ignore it, "So much for that unconditional love you've been hiding behind", I said that you avoided considering the hypothetical situation by saying your daughter would never do that.

The problem here is not in my answer, I gave it, but in your inability to believe in absolutes. I answered the question, then stated the fact that she would never do that. That's not my opinion, that's not my hiding behind your prejudicial notions about my or her beliefs and faith, it's a fact.

Unconditional love is an absolute. You love you child regardless what they do, so I think Adonai answered your question.

What part of "unconditional" (without condition) do you not understand? You can love someone without loving or understanding what they do.

If you guys were able understand that, then you would be that much closer to understanding what God's love is all about. Of course, understanding something on an intellectual level is something entirely different from understanding it on an emotional level.

So you've been having feelings for men then Aristotle?

You're parents will accept you, whether you believe it or not.

And there is no God's love. There is no God.

There's only chemicals and the atoms that make them up.

There's only a very slight difference between men and women. One little chromosome and a few chemicals. We are neither men nor women, gay nor straight. These are words made up to defend ourselves from our true feelings. Feelings which are a matter of chemicals as well.

Well, chavo, you've more than demonstrated the appropriateness of your nick, as well as the sub-title. Aristotle & Adonai, well said, both of you. 100% agreed on all points.

You are one sad git with a really bad reading comprehension problem.

Try reading the entire thread before you comment, then you won't make an idiot of yourself.

Feelings? You do know that people care about other people they have no interest in sleeping with right? Friends generally care about each other. Family members care about each other.

There are many types of love:

chavo your post was just as confusing as this dude and/or dudette, depends how you read this quote:

(1) i'm not straight myself (i'm not gay, either, but i know what it must feel like)

Way to shred em aristotle-dude. Renaming Father's Day, who comes up with this garbage?

Yes, reading is a little more difficult than not knowing which way to swing it ;)

I really do appreciate your and aristotle-dude's boundless sensitivity to the grievous pressures of the asexual life style, but fortunately i'm doing OK and i know exactly which way to 'swing it'.
