Windows Vista installation problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all there!

I just tried to install Windows and it appears to be OK, but when the setup restarted my computer And the boot screen selects Windows Longhorn Installation(or something like that) to run the screen changed to black and nothing happened.

Any Idea?

Note: The "Repair problems with startup" option didn't appear in the main setup window.

Note: The "Boot cd/dvd press any key" appeared and when i pressed a key nothing happens.

And sorry 4 my English!!

UPDATE: a new screen appeared, it say that windows has not been started because the next file doesn't exist or it is damaged:

<windows root>\system32\hal.dll.

Translated from spanish.

Are you using dual monitor? Or your video card has both DVI and Analog output? Try using the analog output or the monitor connected to analog output. Once you get display. You can choose the DVI as the primary monitor. For some odd reason, Vista defaults to my analog LCD instead of my DVI LCD during installation.

sounds like either a bad disc or bad read of rom .. i would try burning the iso again .... and do it on the slowest burn .... and maybe, if possible.... beofre you burn again (and waste a dvd) ... try a different dvd-rom
