NVIDIA HAS one more Quadro card and this time this card will come at a lower price but will offer the same performance. When Nvidia announced G70 (NV47) based Quadro it also announced the second one called Quadro FX 3450.

The company told us that this card is based on the NV43 chip, known better as 6600GT. This is what it's called in the desktop market, but workstation guys know better so they have their own names. No one wants to confuse the playground with the marketplace.

Nvidia might have a good product here as the same chip did very well in gaming industry. So a cheap SLI in a workstation anyone?

It's funny to notice that Quadro still has this nasty FX suffix that Nvidia killed with the failure of NV30 generation of cards. It works well for Quadro FX as Nvidia is the performance leader in this market, but things might change in the next few months when the FireGL generation gets updated with its R520 brother. ?
