Internet Explorer 7 Bugs

Recommended Posts

I have searched for something like this in the forum but have had no results finding answers to these bugs. I have the new IE7b and I am having a few problems.

First, even when I disable the pop-up blocker I am not allowed to browse my system files on certain sites. Goto megaupload.com or rapidshare.de and then try to upload a file and even if the pop-up blocker is disabled it will pop up and not let you browse your files so that you can upload. This problem also happens in forums when you want to upload an attachment. There are probably more instances if anyone knows anything on how to fix this let me know. I am unable to upload files via the browser since the pop-upblocker doesn't want to shut off. I think i saw a few other ppl having the same problem but that was in a huge thread about ie7b and noone ever answered them.

Also, I have seen a few screenshots of ppl who have been able to add more icons to the menu bar. All i have on mine is history, feeds, home, and favorites and i have no option to add more. Any ideas?

Anyone have any info about getting Windows Update to work?

Lastly, the favorites icon works but the favorites menu option doesn't. It just highlights but never drops down.

Other then those four problems ie7 works great. But if i can't fix the pop-up blocker problem i will have to uninstall because that is a big part of my work.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer,

FifthE1ement :alien:

A number of these answers are on the beta newsgroup. I would recommend reading there first, and asking questions there second. Asking here will probably get you accused of using an illegal copy...

This IS a beta, you can expect bugs and it also depends on your system.

I don't know any of the solutions to any of the bugs you mentioned and i don't think there is one.

Oh and if you want to add toolbar buttons go View>Toolbars>Customise. Its always been like that.

I am using Windows XP SP2 and that option is not there. I am looking where you are right now (not a noob) and its not there. I had the option on IE6 but this version doesn't have it. Also, the favorites button works but not the favorites menu like i said in my first post. The biggest problem is the pop up bug which won't go away.

Wow, you definitely got some weird issues goin on there.

About the only things I find wrong with IE 7, and really it may not be classed as bugs, but more like unadded features. As in the favorites not being scrollable in one row like in IE 6 and Windows start menu, and that the main toolbar cannot be moved around.

Other than those, I find IE 7 perfect. Definitle performs awsome, and sure is fast.

Maybe you should try uninstalling then reinstalling, if ya haven't already.

It's an theme called Longhorn Alternative 'Light'.

Well for a start you'll need this if you haven't already got it.

You can't actually download the theme anymore from where I got it, it doesn't seem to exist any more. It's a 13mb zip called 'LonghornAlternativeGuiKit15' so if you want it spend me a PM or email with your email and i'll send it to you (already sent it to you VietBallin07) :)

Other than that you just unzip and then change your theme to Longhorn Alternative and the colour scheme to Light and bobs your uncle.
