Khuat
I tried to install vista in a primary partition (c:), having only two partitions in the HD (the other was D: a FAT32). So, yesterday i rezised the C: partition and made a new one with the free space(G:). Then i tried again to install Vista in the new partition and when the PC rebooted it appears a hal.dll error and in the boot of the dvd a BlackSOD where in the screen appear nothing. Later, I tried to change the BIOS pc start config with any results. Any idea? How to boot wit partition G: working? It is possible? Note:I alerady have the hal.dll and the DVD errors when i installed the partition. Thanks. Please help!!! Edited August 6, 2005 by Khuat

I am not sure .. but ur best bet would be to reverse those Partitions ...and start over... i think Vista is looking for C:\ and u named it G:\ ... so I dont know? Stonkwell Bogtrotter
Try doing a custom install. When you boot from the cd, it will start the install. Then after you have typed in the cd key, it will ask if you want to do an auto install or a custom (or words to that effect). Tell it where you wish to install it from there. Just make sure you read every screen, don't just "click click click" like most people do! I installed to my G: (a 6gb partition) on my pc pefectly fine. #Michael
Mine is installed on my e:\ drive and it dual boots just fine. Again just make sure to read every screen carefully. There will be a screen with 2 selections. One with a computer name and the other for the installation destination. Click on the installation one and you can choose which drive to install it to.
