athlon xp 1800+

Recommended Posts

if i set to: optimum settings on bios, my comp wont start. (must wait 2hours or more),

wanna ask sumthin:

athlon xp 1800 fsb is 266mhz.

currently my fsb is 133mhz, and my mobo fsb range 100-220mhz.

so may i increase the fsb to 220?

no. i don't think you should. you'll break it. i can't explain it, maybe someone else can...

it's curious that you can't start your computer on the optimum settings...what's your multiplier set at now?

well you could but then it wouldnt work, you could just keep upping the fsb by just a few mhz and then see when you get the computer to be unstable then go down.

what kind of motherboard do you have?

and you may just be able to reset the cmos to get it to come back sooner than two hours or you could do what i do and just turn off the computer then either pull the power plug or flip the switch and then try to turn it on again.

well you most likely cannot change the multiplier unless you have it unlocked so dont bother with that. but yea just up the fsb and then you can get more out of it. but once you get unstable try to up the vcore voltage a little. and then it will get hotter but run more stable. so no reason not to go for it.

oh by the way your multiplier is a 11.5 if you have the 1800+ and then +/- .5 for every extra performance rating

errmm, to put is simple,.. 133mhz * 2 = 266mhz..

Get it? :D

Anything over 133mhz would be overclocking. ;)

220mhz * 2 = 440mhz :s
