Runiteshark
I formmated a partition to NTFS in the vista install, and now it currently says Windows is installing... And so on. Yet it just sits there.. Is this how long its supposed to take, or is it moving so slow it dosen't seem to move?
Hiro of Time
Vista took about 20-30 mins to do all the initial installing for me then it rebooted and a screen came on with "FINALISING INSTALL - DO NOT RESET AT THIS TIME" or something, it stayed on that screen what seemed like over an hour! MasterGinyu
I installed Vista on VMware on my machine and it took just around 2 hours to complete. If it takes over 2 hours then I would start wondering if it was working or not.
HeXetic
Mine took a good 1hour to install but i thing it was because I did a full format and not a quick one.
Commodore Max
Installing it on VmWare is absolutely pointless, since you won't be able to use Aero Glass, DWM. Plus it'll be incredibly slow. Just be patient, it will finish eventually. In the release notes, Microsoft warns of a bug with certain processors making it appear as though the installation is frozen, when it really isn't. nightRider
The installation is a slow process and it will be much faster in future releases. The "Installing" phase takes about 30-45 minutes for me and the "Completing Installation" phase took over an hour.
