scaramonga
Anyone know how to change the 'boot order' so that I have XP booting first instead of Vista??? Edited the boot.ini on both OS to have XP first choice.....but no difference??  If I turn on the PC and forget to select XP then Vista boots first.....I'd like it the other way around........ Many thx!
LewisBraid
go to control pannel> system> advanced > start up and recovery > settings> and change the option on the drop down menu., do this in windows and vista.

NarsEsp
That's strange cause for me editing the boot.ini worked fine. Could that be cause i have XP in one HD and Vista in another?
stephen_0002
who knows... maybe your supposed to edit one first ...then the other one..... :p when i boot... it seems that there are 2 boot managers..... one provided for vista and the other one for windows xp .... and because vista is more of an updated OS then winXP .... the longhorn boot manager takes default having the newer OS as the first on the list. NarsEsp
I've just edited the boot.ini located in my WinXP's Hard Drive and in both boot screens WinXP became the first option.
