WTF? CPU Misreading?

Question

I don't know where to put this, but I am having a bit of a problem with WinMX 3.22. I'm trying to have it set so it connects on the primary network. However, WinMX would not allowme because it thinks my CPU is less than 266 MHz. And yet I'm using a Intel Pentium III 500 overclocked to 525 MHz? What's going on here? BTW, I use Windows 2000 Professional. The same problem occurs with some other applications.

This should be in one of the support forums...but ill try and help anyway.

The fact that you're overclocking could be the reason your cpu speed is being misreported, try going back to 500mhz and see if it works.

Yeah, I would try that.

In XP's my computer it says I have a 632mhz, when I have a 750, other programs report it fine :)

Use the program wcpuid to see the clock speed :)

That's in XP. I'm running Windows 2000 Professional and that command doesn't work. DirectX and the System Information detect it as 525 MHz.
