Vista System Requirements

Recommended Posts

I am also wanting to know how it is performing for you guys. When it comes out I will be running it for casual (non-gaming) purposes. My machine is:

1.32 GHZ AMD Thunderbird

768 MB DDR RAM

GeForce 4 Ti 4200

I've read that the special interface in Vista will not be supported by my graphics card. Besides that, will Vista be usable?

I think there is a readme file for every OS which has the minimum & recomended requirements, isn't it?

Can you share what it says for beta 1 or would that be under NDA?

i know microsoft recommends against chipset graphics..

I believe a GeforceFX or higher GPU should be suffient

2GHZ Athlon (possibly 64-bit required) or 2.6Ghz Intel

as of now i recommend 512MB or memory for WinXP so i suggest 1Gig on Vista

10/100/1000 eithernet

and obviously the larger the hdd the better :p

obviously the OS will be somewhat graphics intensive but it still won't compare to what modern games require. By the time Vista comes out Intel will have 64-bit computers and

I'm running Vista on a system w/ these specs:

Sempron 2400 (that's about 1,7 GHz)

512 Mb RAM DDR

ATI Radeon 9800

and it works fine (with all the bells and whistles, glass effects, shadows, animations whatever) - windows explorer works fine (just like it does in XP)programs seem to load normal...etc

personaly i dont thinks Microsoft Windows Vista will be a 64bit system reason not many

people are going to buy a new pc just because a new os came out and microsoft knows

this so they are probily going to make it work on all pc platforms so that people with

there 32bit pc can also BUY and use the OS it wouldnt be smart of them yo make it just

for the 64 bit computers

This POS OS better play well with dual and multi cores.

I get kinda tired of having all kinds of fancy useless crap cluttering my desktop, or stuff like that.

It runs a bit sluggish on a Jaton Geforce 5200...

The lowest DX9 card you can get:

5200

Volari (the V3 stuff)

Radeon 9550+...

Sigh...

Except for the graphics card (I can pick up a DX9 one for $60 or so), my specs are similar to yours (Athlon XP 3000+, 1GB RAM.)

How does Vista run on your system? Does hard drive RPM matter?
