Recommended Posts

I installed windows vista b1 on a different partition on a pc that have

installed windows 2000 server SP4, the pc have 3 partitions:

c:\ (Wivi, Windows Vista)

d:\ (Windows 2000 Server)

e:\ (user files)

before to Wivy, the C partition have winXP PRO and the dual-boot works fine...

but I installed Wivi on the C partition and now I can't boot the windows

2000 server...

What can I do?

I tried many ways (modifying the boot.ini) without good results...

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance.

first install Vista, then windows 2000???

Is not booting cause u should have installed windows 2000 first and then WinXP/Vista after.

No .. u teorically did well, installed Vista after 2000, the prob here is that u uninstalled XP and then installed Vista in the same Hard Drive where XP was.. that's the prob, u have wiped out the boot info for Win2000, wich also was in that Hard drive ©.

I installed vista over XP partition because I don't need have XP, but think that the problem is the boot loader that uses vista, maybe it is incomptible with the boot loader of windows 2000

In doing so you also wiped the boot information for Windows 2000 Server. The loader doesn't know it exists.
