i am using the newest certified and digitally signed 29.42 and they work great on my gf4 ti4400 with dual monitors using a gender-changer for the dvi-i out to vga =) hope that helps.... i also like the 28.32 a lot. but when the new 30.xx detonators come.... they will dessimate all!!!

29.42 is the best detonator i have used so far.

but as lx qu33n 30.xx will be the best, as these will really optimise the GF4's

I use 29.42 detonator's from nVidia website, on my GF4 Ti4400, and the TV-Out works fine

I use the same detonator's on my GF3 Ti500, and again i have no problems with TV-Out

ok so, a question :

when i install 28.90 dont work as good as 29.42, when i got to advanced in display settings i got 3 nvidia panels : ti 4600, device selection(or something like this) and color management or another one where you set colors

when i install 29.42, i got TI 4600 the nview one (that i use) but i dont see the device selection where it says analgod, digital and tv, is this panel needed/ mean for tvout, or is it useless and my tv out will work ?

thnx

nView is the software that nVidia use to manage multiple desktops. I have been using on my GF3 Ti500, and my GF4 Ti4400.

It is simple, easy and reliable. You can move windows about between monitors with out any problems etc.

Read about it more here

And read what Anandtech have to say. This just shows page 4 of article, but the rest of the article does make good reading.

:ninja:

Sweet so if I had a DVD playing WMP and i wanted it to be shown on my 2nd monitor FULL screen it would work fine yeh?

yes it can be done like that.

I use my TV card a lot, and watch TV on one screen, whilst surfing the net or typing emails etc on the other.

you definitely going for the Asus then??

They are very good, but Leadtek and Gainward perform better, from what i have read.

wow im surprised that no one has mentioned this. you cant get video in from the regular detonators. you need to also install the personal cinema. and 29.42 arent the best anymore, even before the 30.xx. get the 29.80, whose performance is even better. as for nview i think its incredibly *gay*. its nothing but a headache. especially when watching dvds here in the usa and perhaps in othetr places, if i enable the video out, pdvd3,4, windvd3, and almost all other dvd players wont play the movie. i must manually tweak this and that here and there to fake a normal monitor out of it. either that or im stuck with pdvd2, which doesnt fully use my 4.1.

yay! i wanted the Gainward TI 4600 but where i live its almost impossible to get it, so msi is like as better as the gainward xcept for the dual dvi so :)

btw i got all things workin now finally :), using 29.42

video out works fine with both my cards, using Power DVD 4.

nView is better than Ati's hydravision in my opinion. I have used both and i find it easier and much more simple.

yay man nview rox, how can you find it *gay* !?

anyway, i find 29.42 perfoming better than 28.90 man smoother and faster, gained 5-10 fps in q3

i got a prob on 3DMARK, always had it, never found how :

when i start a bench, any res, it do the first test , car chase low detail, when finish, screen blink like it was gonna start the 2nd then boom back to win and gives me an error : Cannot initialise display or card Directx error (somthing like this) tip: try decraising your display

i tried everything down to 800*600 16bit nothin it just never go through. direct x 8.1 or 9 is same running 9 now, had same with my old card Geforce 2 gts 32Mo strange :|

No!

You misunderstanding

nView used to run my 18" TFT and my 17" TFT

On this i can use the clone mode, or normal ( which i use most often ) WinTV running on one, and everything else on the other

I use TV out to watch my DVD's on my TV.

Also i find 29.42 better than 29.80. Have tried them on both GF3 Ti500 and GF4 Ti4400.

so you have 3 devices hooked up? you left me more confused than ever. 3 tfts, and 1 tv?? is that possible? and what do you mean "normal" mode? is that not using nview? because there are only "clone" "horizontal" and "vertical"

oh and you say WinTV!

i think i understand now. you not using the tvout feature of the nvidia card. sheeeesh. (i hope thats what youre saying). if you plug a thing into the video out and try watching a dvd.

hrm try upping your agp aperture in your bios. for me, 29.80 gave more points in 3dm2k1 but thats still 3000 points lower than capability considering my cpu and mem holding it back.

i have 2 TFT's and 1 TV

i only use the TV if i am watching DVD's on it. Otherwise it is not even plugged in.

I use the 2 TFT's in horizontal ( what i call normal )

if i use the Tv out feature on the card, than i can use power dvd 4 without any problems

Right any more confusion?? LOL :)
