Phasma
I have an nForce4 motherboard, with an Athlon 64 and a Radeon X800XT (PCI Express). This videocard only has two DVI connectors, no VGA. I have two DVI Flatpanels connected to my videocard. I installed Vista and setup was ok. After the first normal boot however my screen stays black. I boot using "VGA Mode" and everything is OK. The Drives that are installed show up as "Radeon X800XT (LDDM)". After that I've downloaded the ATI Vista (LDDM) Beta drivers, installed those and rebooted. And again my screen stay black when I should see my Desktop. (I do see the Longhorn bootup Logo.) Using Remote Desktop Connection I remote controlled the PC from a different PC (Network configured earlier in VGA Mode) and the system is working normally. I just don't see anything on my regular screen. After doing a lot of Forum browsing I saw a few ppl mentioning possible problems with using DVI at first boot. Someone suggested to connect using VGA, boot Vista, change settings to DVI (where? afaik ATI LDDM Beta Driver does not provide Control Panels) and reboot. My videocard however only has DVI connectors. Is anyone else having problems like these? Found any workaround/solution? Any other ideas?
