#Michael
Got my email today :)Okay, n00b MS beta tester question. Where do I submit bugs, suggestions, etc? 586333818 Submit bugs to betaplace. All comments/suggestions go on the onecare newsgroups. Anyone can tell me anything about it. Whether you can turn off the antivirus, firewall etc? 586335507 Yes you can turn off the firewall. I haven't found a way to turn off the A/V other than actually stopping the onecare service. does anyone know when this beta will be available in the UK? 586335534 Right now it is a north america only beta. But it is supposed to be a world wide rollout when it is released.
Harrison H.
Well I guess then this is a pretty worthless piece of software if I cant use my avast antivirus. But i guess since I cant use it in x64 yet ill just use vmware and test it out that way and not use avast..
ZenPirate
Two trojans blew right past OneCare on my box. I was running trend micro's free online scan just to make sure OneCare was up to snuff...and it's not. Reinstall of NOD32 picked up a few more things, at which point I decided to reinstall XP. I made sure I filled out a feedback email on it. Once they work all the kinks out of OneCare it should be a fine product.
eds
How large is the install package? Is there a network install package? I am using it on a test machine at work but I wanted to try it out at home.
Shane Pitman
One warning, OneCare can be a bear to uninstall completely. I have a close friend in the beta and he ended up wiping his test machine to get rid of it totally.
kainashi
i keep getting this when trying to download the setup: Action failed Windows OneCare was unable to complete your request. Please try again later. and when i do get past that part, it says my passport password is wrong. O_o i emailed them about it and they didn't help at all, just said i wasn't in this weeks group of testers, yet i was invited ?_? is it because i'm in group 3? does that mean i have to wait? Vidar
I haven't had any problems yet with OneCare -- outside of no remote backup. It'd be nice to backup to another drive/machine instead of just dvd/cd's (from within OneCare that is). I've mailed them my suggestion... we'll see if it hits the left or right side of their trash can.
fock neow1n
Do we have any pricing speculations? I'm thinking 29-39 USD per year. 586316601 HAHA, omg that made me laugh. This is Microsoft not some small company. 100+ USD a year.
ZenPirate
HAHA, omg that made me laugh. This is Microsoft not some small company. 100+ USD a year. 586347441 For a consumer target audience? I disagree.
kainashi
i'd really like to get started on testing this but i keep getting that error. one on one help with someone from microsoft didn't help. i can't create a password for the newsgroups because it says "password is not a strong password." and my password isn't even that. bangbang023 Veteran Posted August 9, 2005 Author Veteran Share Posted August 9, 2005 HAHA, omg that made me laugh. This is Microsoft not some small company. 100+ USD a year. 586347441 You must be insane. That would never work in the consumer market and this app is obviously directed there. All testers should check their email for a message about an upcoming beta tester live chat.

Could you ask them if they plan to add a "scan individual files" feature, a way to backup to hard drives, and most importantly if they plan to improve real time protection. Thanks in advance.
