is that on the OneCare website, or Betaplace? I can't find anything on the onecare site, and the betaplace newsgroup info just tells me what it's called, but I can't access it at all. :/

I received an email with product key. And a few days later, I received the a package that contained the CD, and two blank cd-r's for backing up my system. The 2 cdkeys the gave me were not the same. So now I can test on my laptop and desktop!  :D

You don't need 2 keys to test OneCare on 2 computers, I think you're allowed to install to up to 20 computers with 1 key.

You should really give your key to someone who'd like to test and probably will contribute (and in the end if they contribute it's under your name, so MS will be like 'hey this kid's cool, let's invite him to _________ beta and give him a free PC!')

lol :p

No, it has to do with your grouping. Some groups get it in the mail and some are asked to download it. This is to test both methods of installation thoroughly.

Odd, I got the option to download it, and got the CDs too.

What group am I in?

You ... dont answer that. ;)

I installed it onto my home box. I'd really like it if there was the option to right click on a file and then scan it individually. This is awesome for when you download something off the net or even an e-mail attachment.

I already suggested this in the suggestions newsgroup.

How about an option to re-install it?

Once you download it, they take away the option the re-download it if you un-install it!

Lol.

I just received my Beta CDs the other day. I have just started playing around with it. It seems the majority of NW members are happy with it.

The virus scanner is much faster than Kaspersky, but that may not be a good thing since I wonder how thorough it is.

lol...it's been leaked on many warez sites  :woot:  :alien:

It might be leaked, but without a legit product key tied to your passport account, you can't update the virus database and some of the other features. It becomes basically useless other than to play with it and try it out.

i had it, didnt like it. theres no way to file bug reports on the beta.microsfot page. and there is no way to stop the program or exit it without stopping the service and killing it through taskmanager. (thats a pain) it added some secs to my startup which i also didnt like and was just bothersome.
