Ive killed a few Compaqs (hammer...sheet metal clippers...) but I've never worn one out. My most favorite box ever is an old HP Pavilion that lasted from Win95 to Win2k..the poor thing was abused to death, carted around, moved, upgraded, sold to friends, bought back...and it just kept working!

that's some hp. i don't think they make 'em like they used to though.

i've got an old pentium 75MHz that's on the DL. lol not really, it's just sitting there. for a while i used it as a server; worked pretty well considering that no one visits my site. :( (don't visit it, it's blank right now anyway.) the last config i had on it was win2k and mandrake 8.1 (via disk-booting). it was slow as molasses, but it still chugged. :D

creamhackered, maybe the battery on the mobo is dead? sounds weird anyhow.:s

Speaking of Compaq's...I have a perfectly good Presario 5441 thats been sitting here for a month...it won't give up it's hard drive through conventional means (screwdriver:right: )...so it's about to be introduced to my sheet metal cutters...if it's lucky it may even get to meet my 24.2 Volt power drill

Hmmm...has anyone seen my accelerant? I've been itching for a good fire lately...
