ttroxell27
When i try to use MSN Messenger 7.5 Beta 244 it gives me an error message saying "Signing in to MSN Messenger (BETA) failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." but when i do the connecion troubleshooter everything comes back fine. I dont get it other than my NIC Card dont show any recieved packets but the internet works and everything.
stephen_0002
thats strange .... hmm ... nic card doesn't show any packets recieved.... weird.... but they are sending... i think it does sound like a firewall issue. ... .. other than configuring it (which i assume you might have tried already) ... what about turning it off.. wait a few sec ....then turning it back on ... Smithjoe1
I also had this problem, and I'm sure other people have it too, but I figured I wont wait for it to just go away, the steps I managed to use to resolve it was. Ran regsvr32 softpub.dll wintrust.dll initpki.dll Realised initpki.dll wasnt in my vista build Copied it from a Windows XP installation Ran regsvr32 initpki.dll and it worked. I noticed that my DNS was a bit slow and not working too well, and I have a feeling that DLL had something to do with it. I just googled the error message to find out what other people did to fix it, that was it, realised the dll wasnt there, replaced it and it worked, hopefully this will help other people with similar problems :)
Ethere
The only problem I'm having is that certain sounds don't work. Wink sounds work, but normal event sounds don't. They are displayed in my sound scheme, and I can play the sounds from the sound scheme dialog box. They just don't play in Messenger.
greg098
There is a bug with MSN Messenger 7.5 that if you log out or hibernate/stand by and then try to sign back into MSN, it will not work. I am not sure why. I say the bug will be fixed by the time its released the beta to the public in a few days
