MS IntelliMouse Question

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of getting a Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer and was wondering if it was worth the money and how long it can run before having to replace the batteries?

I really don't think the wireless mice are practical unless you're someone who gives presentations, or just likes to have the coolest looking stuff.

Just make sure you get an optical mouse.

Belive it or not I won one from Microsoft when they were first released. It really is nice not having to fight the wire, but having to change batteries is a bit of a pain.

I am a heavy user, my computer gets sut down once a week or so. I have learned to ignore the low battery warning untill I actually see the mouse starting to skip and get about 2-3 weeks out of the best batteries.

Not M$, but there are other brands (don't remember exactly) for optical/wireless mouses, but with a cradle to recharge batteries. I think is the best option... ;)

But rechargable batteries need to be charged on a regular basis? Or do they last longer than 3-4 weeks?

I have a Memorex Optical Cordless. It looks cool. I like not having a little rubber ball to clean. It has a charging cradle. Unfortunately, it operates about a day before needing to put it back in the cradle. I just can't be bothered. Send me postage and you can have it.

By the way - I initially had the MS Intellimouse Explorer Optical with a cord. Bought one when they first came out with optical. I also had to ditch it because the cord did give out. I couldn't fix it. I probably will get one of their corded opticals again - they are a tad bit smaller then they were when they first came out with optical.

Made up my mind... I'm getting one, changing the batteries every 3 to 4 weeks doesn't sound all that bad to me (yet). Thanks everyone for the help :)

its refresh rate is slower than that of a corded mouse, and the trackability is lower, don't try to play games with it, its a pain. you'll notice its movement across the desktop will appear slower than that of the corded model, beware.

Nope... simply when you are not using the mouse, it stands in the cradle, recharging...

I think you sleep sometimes... :D

Re-read please....

P.S.: If you want a solution for your misunderstanding, just use NiCad batteries in your M$ mouse, and RECHARGE....

Thanks for reading.... :p

Regarding the gaming with a cordless mouse, found an article in gamingin3d.com, about the Logitech optical/cordless, not bad... ;)

Here...

Edit:

Note the 800 dpi resolution and the final note: 94 % ... ;)

P.S.: I saw this mouse at $ 29 (US dollars) in Buy.com...
