Redestium
Sorry for the length :( I just bought the TDK VeloCD 40/12/48X CD burner and I am having some problems that happen at, what seems, random. I burn the disc in Nero 5.5.7.8 (I've also used 5.5.8.2 with the same results) and it completes to 100 % however it never displays the final dialog box stating that the burn was completed sucessfully. The light on the drive has stopped at this point and all Nero is doing is counting up for time elapsed and saying it's writing the lead-out. I thought that perhaps it needed more time to finish but I was writing at 32x and left it for near seven minutes at a stand-still. I had to completely power down my system and turn the power on again to retrieve the disc from the burner (using the reset button to restart didn't even allow me to eject the disc). Oddly enough though after getting the disc out of the drive it was able to be read (it had burned successfully, but Nero seemed to have gotten hung-up). I tried burning an audio disc in Musicmatch Jukebox, and a data CD in Easy CD Creator 5, both worked without a hitch so I don't think there is a fault with the drive itself. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this with any CD Burner and Nero. If so, any help you could provide would be appreciated. Joseph Zollo
Have you tried upgrading to 5.5.9.0? https://www.neowin.net/comments.php?categor...oftware&id=5304 It just may add support for your burner.
Redestium
I'll have to try that, but I don't know if it will do any good since it didn't work with 5.5.8.2.:( I'll have to give it a shot though, thanks.
nomis_nehc
mmm... I've had same experience with my old AOpen 24x burner too. It would just sit there and not do anything, though the light still flashes. I simply cancels it, and eject the CD. Oddly enough, like you said, it works perfectly fine. The error occurs totally at random times for me too.
