Do You Have $100 million?

"Honey, I love you so much that I am willing to take you to the Moon". Be careful with your words, because now, these cosmic trips are possible and they have a very ?attractive? price: $100 million.

Thanks to Space Adventures, a trip to the moon will be available somewhere in 2008 or 2009; this is the first stop towards a future lunar landing by private citizens.

"For the first time in history, a private company is organising a mission to the moon," Space Adventures CEO Eric Anderson said at a Manhattan news conference Wednesday, a day after space shuttle Discovery safely returned to Earth. "This mission will inspire countries of the world, citizens, our youth. "

Anderson said that he already has ''private explorers'' who are interested in the trip and could afford the ticket.

Space Adventures has a partnership with Russia's Soyuz TMA spacecraft. The Soyuz has 10 cubic meters for the crew members, which is quite enough for three people.

The initial travelers would be the first to orbit the moon in more than 33 years, according to the Arlington, Va., company. Only 27 people have ever made such a journey.

If I had 100million to blow, I sure as hell would not blow it to a trip to the moon. I'd buy Neowin :D.

Anybody who spends $100 million on a trip to the moon should be shot before they are able to procreate. This trip is so expensive that only the extremely rich people can really afford it, though.

Yes...  Spending 20 days in a space the size of a bathroom with 2 other people has always been a lifelong dream vacation.

If I had that much money, I would definatlely not spend it on a trip to the moon.

well, all of you guys that are saying "if i had that much, i wouldn't waste it on that", i dont think you guys are quite getting the idea....people who would actually do this have a lot more than just $100 million, they probably have billions.....so if i had billions, i might blow $100 million on this, assuming it was safe and such....i probably wouldnt volunteer to be first in line ;)
